"A Crown of Green Leaves" drew me into this fandom and, eventually, into writing slash myself, and I'm forever grateful for that. I didn't know anybody of the fandom at the time, and had no idea yet what brilliant writers I would encounter; but I still remember one of my first impressions, which was "wow, if this fandom is creating this kind of writing, and having authors of this quality, what a brillant place to be." :D I totally understand the desire to remain under the radar, particularly for a well-known author or person, and doing it in this way seems like a very sensible way of doing it.
