Man, this is not turning out to be the introspective exercise I was hoping for. I feel like I should go back and append to yesterday's entry that I finished The Fall of Gondolin and am extremely angry at it. I was hoping for a Children of Hurin-type deep dive into one of my favorite stories of the Legendarium but instead it was just Tuor, Tuor, Tuor! Christopher only discussed the *actual* "Fall" of Gondolin at the beginning of the book, and the entire rest of the thing was just the evolution of the character of Tuor. WTF? I wanted to throw it across the room, but then I wouldn't be able to sell it on eBay. Save your money and read Gondolin fanfic. Seriously.
