I have already exceeded my daily quota of LJ messages (some call me a space-cowboy, LJ calls me a spammer of love) so I have resorted to leaving comments on peoples' latest entries-- which, frankly, makes it look even more like spam. :(

I have only made it through the E's K's R's so far, so if I haven't knocked on your door, the day is young.

I knew I could count on you all to bring the love on short notice!  In fact, you brought over 300 more words of adoration for your fellow ficcers than you did last year! Let's hear it for breaking records and not hearts!

( Valentines A - E )

I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date!  I know it's short notice this year, but really, it shouldn't be too hard for you to think a few nice thoughts about the people you enjoy and admire.

It's (past) time for the VALENTINE'S DAY SECRET ADMIRER EXTRAVAGANZA!! 

Most of you know how it works, but here's a refresher:

1) Choose up to 10 people (negotiable upon request) from your flist. Write a sentence or two about how you feel about them. Could be as simple as "you always make me smile," or "I love your icons," or "I'm thinking of you."

2) EITHER Email your list to me at kenazfiction@gmail.com OR post a comment to THIS ENTRY. I will screen all comments and allow anonymous posting on THIS ENTRY ONLY.

3) You have until midnight (EST) February 12th to send them in. No exceptions.

4) On February 14, I will post a list of all the people who received comments and post all of the comments that they received...without revealing who sent them. Hopefully, lots of you will wake up on Valentine's Day to all kinds of anonymous love AND hot, steamy Elf and/or Man tales from the My Slashy Valentine exchange!

Please note that you do not have to restrict your messages to Tolkien writers only - though please make sure that their LJ name is correctly noted. Though the "posters" of such messages are restricted to the Tolkien fandom, otherwise it becomes just too unwieldy for me.

PLEASE DO FEEL FREE TO "STEAL" THIS IDEA FOR YOUR OTHER FANDOMS!

PLEASE DO FEEL FREE TO SPREAD THIS AROUND YOUR TOLKIEN FRIENDS! My flist is kept purposely small, so I'd welcome a lot more players that aren't on mine. Obviously, your chances of receiving the love increases if your own flist is involved. I'll make the final post public so that everyone can see and refer to it.

COME ON AND SPREAD THE ANONYMOUS LOVE!!

So many words! So much love!  In fact, there are 6668 verbs, adjectives, objects, propositions (!!!), and nouns (both proper and improper!!) of friends extolling their anonymous love for one another. Awwwww!  Thanks to each and every one of you for throwing a little light onto a dim February day.  I'm sure this will also help put everyone in the mood for their My Slashy Valentine stories, which your Slashy Mod red_lasbelin will be delivering today.

And now, without further ado... let's start feelin' the love!


ETA: Apparently, I have exceeded my daily allotment of messages, so people whose names begin with the letters S through Z will be getting comments on their LJ entries instead of messages in their inboxes.  Sorry 'bout that, folks!

ETA2: Will friends of skonichek, zeedrippyvessel, stephmariemarsh and vinvalenwind let them know that they have valentines waiting? Their user settings will not allow me to leave messages for them. VALENTINE FAIL! :(


ETA3: AWWW! So glad to see all the love a-flowin. It has absolutely been my pleasure to host this. It does my heart good to be the facilitator for this much shared joy.
